Feeling Crabby

Hella day at work. Best part of the day was going with the housemate to dinner with her dad and stepmom. Seafood is always a good thing, especially when it’s steamed snow crab. (as a side note, and even more importantly, received some excellent news about my Uncle Mike’s health today, so a celebration was in order!!!)
Full of good seafood, I’m now going to bed.

NEVER EVER order from Cameta Camera.

What ever you do, NEVER, EVER place an order from Cameta Camera (who also lists on Amazon). I work for a University. We place orders from all over the world. Cameta Camera REFUSES to ship to a University because, according to “Ashley”, “Thank you for completing your payment information. Unfortunately, we are unable to process your order at this time. You have selected a school/hotel/resort/inn address for the shipment of the package and we are unable to ship to any schools or hotels. Our insurance carrier will not cover us for the package if it has been lost or stolen.
If you have a different address that you would like your order shipped to, please forward that information, call your credit card company and have it added to the credit card as an alternate shipping address so we can confirm the address is linked with the credit card and we will be able to accept your current form of payment.”
My response:
“With the amount of material we have shipped to our Administrative Offices (which is where this is going), your insurance company is costing you a great deal of money. I order from numerous sites (CDWG, Amazon, B&H Photo, Adorama, etc.) and have NEVER had an issue with FedEx delivering (or UPS, or anyone else for matter). Since you cannot deliver, I would like confirmation that I will be either (a) not charged for this transaction or (b) have the charge refunded to my Corporate Credit Card.
It is in strict VIOLATION of Old Dominion University policies to order on a University Credit Card and have shipped to another address.
I await confirmation that this order has been cancelled and refunded. I will then take my business to another company. I will also be alerting others that ask me for suggestions as to where to order from to NEVER use Cameta Camera due to this incident.”
They have already cost me two days of productivity, and let’s face it, with a “policy” such as this where they will not ship to a University’s Administrative Office (via FEDEX, I might add), I think they’re probably more than just a bit shady with their business practices.
